(14), 452, 153-163,(1), 465-551, (1)pp. Lacking half title (A1). Foxing thoughout, heavy at times, toning. The English Puritan Thomas Cobbet (1608-1685) was born in Newbury in Berkshire. He studied under the prominent clergyman and theologian William Twisse (1578-1646), and travelled to America in 1637. He became one of the leading New England Puritans & was commended by Cotton Mather. He was preacher at Lynn and later at Ipswich, Massachusetts. Wing C4779, ESTC R209593 and Sabin 13868.
