[18th Century images of London's Street People] Bound in fine, modern 1/2 morocco over brown boards.  Gilt ruled spine compartments.  74 engraved plates showing the denizens of London (including two titles). Captions in English, French, and Italian.  Minor scattered foxing, but generally clean.  Minor loss to the caption of the Sow Gelder plate.   The first edition was printed in 1688. This edition had updated plates have been altered to bring the costume into the fashion of the time of re-publication. See: Tuer, A. Old London street cries, p. 7.  According to the ESTC, "The plates were probably engraved by John Savage; some authorities, however, attribute part of the engraving to Laroon or to Tempest."  ESTC N505908.  Raines, R.
