Bound in publisher's light blue cloth, with gilt and tri-color seal on front.  Seal consists of three ink balls overlapping with balls facing primary colors, gilt and black border, within laurel wreath and ribbon border.  280 x 213 mm. Some spotting, discoloration to front cover. 319 p.  90 plates. Lovely typographic bookplate of Elaine & Bruce McCallister (Los Angeles).  Early signature of Edward L. Evans.  Some wear, scattered staining. *Autographed by author.*

In 1892 the artist, John Franklin "Earhart published The Color Printer, in itself a tour de force of color printing, in an edition of 2,000, requiring 1,625,000 impressions from 625 different forms."
