Includes the Old Testament, New Testament, the Apocrypha, The administration of Baptisme to be used in the Church; and the Book of Psalms (Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins, etc.).  Collation: (4) + (1) + 68 (paginated 1-34 (woodcut genealogical tables) + 190 (ending at Job) + 196 (ending at Apocrypha) + 121 (New Testament, lacking engraved title page) + 11 leaves (A briefe Table of the interpretation of proper names); Administration of Baptism; The Booke of Psalmes (1610), 30 leaves only.  Engraved general title page with heart motif.  No separate title for the New Testament. Woodcut map of the Holy Land on verso the printer's message opening the New Testament.  Printed on double columns. Some soiling, marginal wear with minor loss to New Testament.  Early signature of Philip Moyes (1733) on verso of front end page. Refs: Herbert 306; Darlow & Moule 237; STC 2212. With John vi:67: incorrectly stating Judas for Jesus.  

The Geneva Bible was the primary Bible of English Protestantism (Calvinist). It predated the King James version and was used by Shakespeare, Donne, Bunyan, and their contemporaries. A copy of the Geneva Bible was carried by the Puritans on the Mayflower to Plymouth.
