Olschki was a famous publisher of Italian books on the humanities and literature. After establishing a prospering publishing and antiquarian book business he was forced to flee to Switzerland due to anti-German sentiment in WWI and later due to anti-Jewish laws in WWII. His august firm continues to publish in Florence.
