[Panoramic Northward View of Baltimore Harbor During Union Civil War Occupation] Original hand colored lithograph.  Matted & framed size 22" x 27".  Some toning, a few light creases.  Small repair in upper right corner.  

This lithograph is one in a series of Civil War scenes in and around Baltimore by Sachse. Fort Federal Hill (of 1812 fame) was used by the 6th Massachusetts Militia and elements of Cook's Light Artillery of Boston under the command of General Benjamin F. Butler.  Baltimore's loyalty to the Union was in question, and the fort served as a means of controlling the city.  Rear board has a printed letter sheet from David Bendann's Fine Art Rooms, 105 E.
