Translated from Greek into Latin and annotated by Thomas de Pinedo Lusitanus.   First published by Aldus Manutius in Venice, 1502.  Stephanus lived in the 6th century during the reign of Justinian I.  In this fragmentary work Stephan writes a geographical dictionary, special attention is given to the names of places in Egypt.
